New IMBA PVE skills: Worth rolling a paragon now?
Looking at the new skills, I'm actually thinking of making a paragon in PVE ... maybe with the following skills:
"There's Nothing to Fear!" (31% reduction in damage)
"Save yourselves" (+100 armor to whole party, 3-5 seconds, 8 adrenaline)
Spear of Fury (5 energy for +2-4 adrenaline on those suffering from condition)
Focused Anger (elite)
They're On Fire!
[other stuff]
Basically, with focused anger you can spear of fury for +8 adrenaline, charging up "Save yourselves for 5 seconds, and spam "There's Nothing to Fear!" and "They're On Fire!" for ridiculous amounts of damage prevention.
Could this work?
Edit: ...is there any quick way of farming 250k kurzick or luxon faction....there isn't, is there...)

thats the catch. find a paragon with maxed titles or it doesn't work. :P
i was thinking something along the same lines of what you put up there. don't forget glowing signet since your going to be spending mass amounts of energy.

If you are making a PvE Paragon, look into Critical Agility to use with GftE.

...or /w for "fgj!".
I wonder. This patch might just have made the Paragon viable, instead of killing it for good as I initially thought.

This is one of the greatest buffs for paragons. However, it won't cause anyone to roll one in PvE just for the skills unless your idea of fun is grinding Sunspear points.
Kurzick/Luxon faction is account wide so those aren't as big a deal.

You don't have to use a high level of either to reap the gains. "There's Nothing to Fear!" is very useable at r6-r7, which is obscenely easy to farm... and for storyline continuation, you have to end up there anyways. With the new changes, faction rank is easy to get (and profit from also... stupid jadeite / amber change); as I understand it, your Spear of Fury breakpoint for 3 strikes of adrenaline is r4.
It strikes that your best option is: Focused Anger. Spear of Fury. Save Yourselves! There's Nothing to Fear! They're on Fire! Aggressive Refrain. Lyric of Zeal. Energizing Finale. Zealous Spear + Searing Flames x ad infinitum.

The only bad part about that build is that "Save Yourselves!" only affects allies... but still, you get 70% plus damage reduction, so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

The thing is TNTF can still be used on secondaries. Its very difficult to use thanks to the extremely high energy cost/maintanence cost. But it can work, specially as its unlinked. A Paragon can just keep it up indefinatly, other professions can use it when its needed.
Although yeah they have majorily unbalanced Para's defensively now if they have high Sunspear and high Allegiance... the possiblity of a near permanent 90%+ damage reduction is a little insane.
But that said... it doesn't make them anymore fun to play, infact it makes them even more dull to play because now you'll be expected to take long these skills and spam GftE to manage energy. Very effective yes, fun to play, still a big fat no.

I'll tell you something tough: A P/W with Focused anger, "Save yourselves!" and "There's Nothing to Fear!" will have NO problem finding a party for HM or elite areas.

Too bad I can run there's nothing to fear just as well or better than your paragon with my ranger
...which is one of the broken aspects of the game.

*GASP*
Blasphemy! lol, j/k
Anyways, I truly Paragons in PvE have REALLY been buffed since a Para with GFTE, Crit Agility, and TNTF is really a big support to a party. With this combo, TNTF can be spammed at recharge indefinately without any energy problems, contrary to other professions (except maybe necros).

Of all of the new Sunspear and Kurzick/Luxon skills, I would guess that the ones most likely to be nerfed are:
1. There's Nothing to Fear
2. Save Yourself
3. Critical Agility
You have the ability to utilize all three and keep them up almost 100% of the time, which is something A-Net will likely realize is a broken mechanic.
